Personality
Personality:
Wahya is quiet and only speaks when he needs to. He is a bit ashamed of his voice and the reasons behind is, so his best defense is to keep it from being heard by anyone. He has a bit of a morbid outlook because of the battles that he has been forced to fight and the many lives that he witnessed leave the living. He doesn't understand why he was spared from death while so many that he cared about were not.
Wahya is kind under his stony exterior. He would never harm a mare or foal. He is not afraid to fight a stallion if provoked and seems to have a bit of a death wish when he is fighting. He tends to be reckless and is often thought of as arrogant when he truly is just uncaring of if he wins or loses. He has never had a personal stake in a fight, so he has never seen the point in worrying about the outcome. His own life has never seemed important enough to him.
His loyalty is to himself. He does not align with strength or weakness. He will help any that ask, but does not feel obligated unless asked. However, if it is a mare or foal being attacked by a stallion, he will step in to protect the mare or foal. That is something that he has never been able to stand.

History:
Wahya was raised among a group of tribal horses. He was born to one of the mares and the chief's favorite stallion. His parents both expected him to become the next lead stallion for the herd, as well as the mount of the next chief. He was trained by the chief's son and was a successful war horse for the tribe. However, Wahya hated every minute of the time that he spent in the hands of the tribe.
When the tribe went to battle, the chief's son was struck by a warring tribe's blow and unhorsed in the middle of the battle field. Wahya took the opportunity to flee from the battle, and continued to run from the life that he had been living for four and a half years at that point. He continued to run until he found himself in a new land and as far away as he could get without the release of death.
Wahya stepped into a river to attempt to wash off the paint that had been applied before that final battle to find that the paint had stained his pelt, leaving a permanent reminder of the life that he had once had. Stepping out, he set off to find himself a new life in this new world.
